DigiCert TLS/SSL Certificates Shortened Validity to 199 Days

Starting February 24 2026, TLS/SSL certificates issued through DigiCert CertCentral will have a maximum validity of 199 days (down from 397 days), including EU Qualified Website Authentication Certificate (QWAC) and QWAC PSD2 certificates.

This change to shorter validity is an industry-wide requirement mandated by new CA/Browser Forum baseline requirements. The goal is to improve security by limiting the impact of compromised keys and enabling faster cryptographic updates as threats and standards evolve.

While shorter lifetimes may require adjustments, they also reduce risk and help keep your environments more resilient over time. DigiCert provides automation and tooling to make renewals as seamless as possible. Please contact us for more information on automation for your SSL re-issuance.
